by 88 by 88.- A pesar de sus incuestionables resultados, la Revolución Cubana ha sido víctima durante años de las calumnias en relación con este tema. ¿Qué objetivos persiguen tales campañas difamatorias?Derechos Humanos en Cuba, la cuestión ha sido objeto de manipulación, doble rasero, enfoques punitivos, politización y selectividad por parte de algunos Estados, en aras de estigmatizar a gobiernos que no se pliegan a los intereses imperiales, tergiversar su realidad e intentar destruirlos mediante operaciones de cambio de sistema.En el caso de los derechos humanos en Cuba, omiten intencionadamente que, desde la ocupación militar de Estados Unidos y durante el periodo neocolonial, el 45 % de los niños no asistía a la escuela, los obreros y campesinos carecían de los más elementales derechos; los asesinatos, la tortura y la discriminación resultaban una práctica cotidiana. El triunfo del 1ro. de enero de 1959 transformó radicalmente ese triste panorama. Desde entonces, la promoción y protección de todos los derechos humanos para todos es una prioridad, sobre la base del carácter universal, indivisible, interdependiente e interrelacionado de estos.Hoy Cuba es Estado Parte de 44 de los 61 instrumentos internacionales en materiaby 88 de dere-chos humanos, uno de los países con mayor número de ratificaciones de este tipo.
